HILLSBORO – The Hutchinson Community College men's track and field team won five individual events and one relay while posting 15 Top 3 finishes on Saturday at the Tabor College Invitational at Wiens Stadium.

Ezekiel Seamster and Sharim Hamilton were double-event winners for the Blue Dragons.

Seamster captured the 100 meters in a time of 10.64 seconds. Hamilton won the 400 meters with a time of 49.84 seconds.

Seamster (anchor leg) and Hamilton (second leg) then teamed up with leadoff runner Omari Smith and third-leg runner Cameron Campbell to win the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 41.81 seconds.

Sophomore distance runner Carsyn Turpin won the 5,000 meters on Saturday with a time of 16:10.01. Turpin also placed sixth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:13.16.

The Blue Dragons had 1-2 finishes in two other events – the 110-meter hurdles and 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday.

Darrien Holloway and Alexander Holt finished first and second, respectively, in the 110 hurdles. Holloway posted a PR time of 14.76 seconds, while Holt was second in 14.76 seconds. Timers had to go the thousandths of a second to declare a winner – Holloway edged Holt by .002 seconds for the win.

Douwe Bentsink won the steeplechase with a PR time of 9:58.87. Christian Darrah was second with a time of 10:01.23, also a PR.

Brayden Peterson had a PR in a second-place performance in the pole vault. He cleared a career-best height of 14 feet, 6 inches (4.41 meters). Nathaniel Hein was third in the pole vault after clearing 13-6 (4.11m). Tanner Tustain was fifth at 12-6 (3.81m).

The Blue Dragons had seven other strong performances on Saturday:

+ Smith, in addition to his win the 4x100 relay, posted two individual PRs. Smith placed sixth in the 100 meters in a PR time of 10.95 seconds. He placed fourth in the 200 meters with a PR time of 21.80 seconds.

+ Seamster placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 21.63 seconds.

+ Donovan Bryant placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 51.93 seconds.

+ Tokiwa Armstrong ran a PR in the 800 meters, placing third in 2:01.32. Evan Avitia was fourth at 2:01.76.

+ Adrian Dimond placed third in the triple jump at 43-10 3/4 (13.38m). He sixth in the long jump at 21-1 1/2 (6.44m).

+ Holt placed third in the high jump, clearing 6-1 1/2 (1.87m). James Knowles was fourth, also at 6-1 ½.

+ Jack Losew posted two PRs in the jumps. He placed fifth in the long jump at 21-3 1/4 (6.48m) and was fifth in the triple jump at 41-7 (12.67m).

+ Campbell was seventh in the 100 meters with a time of 10.98 seconds.

The Blue Dragons' final regular-season meet is next Saturday at the Southwestern Invitational in Winfield.
