Hutchinson Community College sophomore Dimetre Browne broke a meet record on Saturday and posted the fourth-best indoor long jump in Blue Dragon men's track and field history.

The Gibbons, Saint Kitts native was named the Jayhawk Conference men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Browne won the Washburn Rust Buster men's long jump on Saturday in Topeka with a career-best jump of 24 feet, 3.85 inches (7.41m). That meet-record jump won by a whopping 2.75 inches.

Browne qualified for the 2023 NJCAA Indoor Championships and posted the fourth-best indoor men's long jump in Blue Dragon history.

Browne's previous career best we 23-9.25 set last season. Browne was an NJCAA Indoor Long Jump All-American in 2022.

Browne currently has the No. 2 long jump in the country.
