Despite a strong showing at the Jayhawk Classic last Friday, the Hutchinson Community College men's track and field team dropped eight spots in this week's United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I rankings.

The Blue Dragons tumbled to No. 15 overall and is the fourth-highest ranked Jayhawk Conference team in the second indoor rankings of the season.

At the Jayhawk Classic, the Blue Dragons picked up three new national qualifiers to bring the season's total to 10. The newest qualifiers are Alex Grays in the 200 meters, Elijah Smith in the 600 meters and the Blue Dragon 4x400 relay team.

Barton remains the No. 1 team in the rankings. Iowa Central remains No. 2. Cloud County moves up two spots to No. 3 and Coffeyville is down one spot to No. 5. South Plains ranks fifth in the latest rankings.

The Blue Dragons will be at the Fred Beile Classic on Saturday in Crete, Nebraska.
