ENID, Oklahoma – The Hutchinson Community College men's golf team rallied from a six-stroke deficit heading into Tuesday's final round to repeat as team champion of the Oakwood Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blue Dragons shot a tournament-low team round of even-par 284 on Tuesday to rally past 36-hole leader Weatherford College to capture their first tournament title of the season and second-straight victory at the par-71 Oakwood Country Club.

The Dragon comeback was led by Charlie Box's 2-under par 69 and Louis Ross' 1-under 70 on Tuesday. David Razinskas shot an even-par 71 while Marco Anderson shot 74 for the tournament-low 284. The Blue Dragons finished with a 54-hole total of 876, coming back from a six-stroke deficit after 36 holes.

McLennan shot 285 on Tuesday and placed second at 880. Weatherford shot a 302 in the final round and placed third at 888.

The Blue Dragons shot 303 in Monday's opening round and trailed Weatherford by eight strokes. The Dragons shot 289 in the second round and closed the gap with the Coyotes to six strokes after 36 holes.

Hutchinson had two golfers place in the Top 10 and four in the Top 10 individually.

Ross tied for third overall at 3-over 216. Ross opened Monday with a 73, but shot 1-under over the final 36 holes carding round of 71 and 70 in rounds 2 and 3. Ross finished four strokes off the pace of Oakwood individual champion Ethan Smith of Iowa Western (74-69-69—212).

Razinskas tied for sixth individually at 5-over 215. Razinskas was steady throughout the two days with Monday rounds of 73 and 74, closing at 1-under 71 on Tuesday.

Box rallied from an opening-round 81 on Monday to tie for 12th overall at 8-over 221. After that rough opening round, Box improved 10 strokes in the second round at 71 and his 2-under 69 on Tuesday.

Anderson placed 14th individually at 9-over 222 after rounds of 75, 73 and 74.

Keaton Thissen placed 62nd overall at 241. Thissen had rounds of 84, 82 and 83.

Individual players Brooks Sauder tied for 73rd at 249. Sauder posted rounds of 84, 82 and 83.

The Blue Dragons will now open the Jayhawk Conference tournament season next week with Jayhawk No. 1 at Colbert Hills Golf Club in Manhattan next Monday and Tuesday.
