ELKHORN, Nebraska – The final round of the Big O Classic on Tuesday was a tough one for the Hutchinson Community College men's golf team on Tuesday at Indian Creek Golf Club.

Entering the final round with a three-stroke lead, the Blue Dragons suffered through a rough final 18 holes and finished eighth overall with a 54-hole team score of 893, 15 strokes off the pace of team champion Omaha.

The Blue Dragons posted a 22-over par 310 on Tuesday in tough scoring conditions. In addition to high winds, the final round was stopped three times because of lightning.

Freshman Charlie Box shot the low Blue Dragon round on Tuesday with a 3-over 75. The Dragons also counted David Razinskas' 77, Louis Ross' 78 and Harry Malin's 80.

Omaha and Creighton tied for the team title at 878. The Mavericks shot a better team score in the third round (287-291) to win the team tie-breaker. North Dakota and Indian Hills tied for third at 891.

Two Blue Dragon golfers finished in the individual Top 10 in the Big O Classic.

Ross, who entered the final day in the individual lead, finished in a fifth-place tie at 2-over 218.

Box tied for seventh at 3-over 219. Razinskas finished in a tie for 36th at 227. Malin tied for 57th at 234. Micah Blowers shot a final-round 82 and tied for 65th at 237.

Indian Hills' golfer Gaspar Glaudis shot a 68 on Tuesday and won the individual championship with a 6-under 210.

Blue Dragon sophomore Louis Galvin, who was playing as an individual, finished with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. He tied for 18th at 222.

The Blue Dragons play next Monday and Tuesday at Sand Creek Station in Newton for the Grier Jones/Wichita State Invitational.
