ENID, Oklahoma – Playing in high-wind conditions, the No. 1-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's golf team finds itself right in the thick of the team title chase at the Oakwood Intercollegiate.

With sustained 40 mph winds and several gusts or more than 50 mph, the Blue Dragons shot a season-high round of 312 (28 over par) on Monday at the Oakwood Country Club. Hutchinson finds itself just one stroke out of the team lead, which is shared by Southwestern Christian University and Garden City, both teams shot 327 on Monday.

The scheduled 54-hole tournament was shortened to 36 as the afternoon round on Monday was cancelled. The final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Blue Dragons are tied for third with the Southwestern Christian "B" Team. The Blue Dragons counted rounds from Alex Lindstrom (77), Dominic Clemons (78), Blake Saffell (78) and Marco Anderson (79) on Monday. Louis Galvin carded an 81 in the opening round.

Lindstrom is the highest-ranked Blue Dragon on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 11th place.

Clemons and Saffell are tied for 15th. Anderson is tied for 21st and Galvin is tied for 47th.

Kallie Svederman is playing as an individual this week. He's tied for 35th after an 81 on Monday.

Garden City's Anthony DeSchutter was the only player in the field to shoot par on Monday with a 71. He has a two-stroke lead over Phillip Pakosch of Southwestern Christian.
