MONKEY ISLAND, Oklahoma – Three members of the No. 1-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's golf team are in the Top 6 individually and the Blue Dragons have a 15-stroke lead after two round of the Missouri Southern Fall Classic.

Hutchinson shot an 8-under-par 568 through the first two of the three-round tournament on Monday at Shangri La Country Club. The Blue Dragons lead both Southern Arkansas, Oklahoma Christian and Rogers State, which are tied for second at 583. The final round will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

The Blue Dragons opened a nine-stroke lead after 18 holes with a 7-under 281. Freshman Blake Saffell's Blue Dragon debut was stellar with a 6-under 66, in a round that included seven birdies, including birdies on four-consecutive holes. Sophomore Harry Crockett started his round with a bogey, but recovered to post a 4-under 68, finishing the round with five birdies and no bogeys.

Sophomore Ben Partridge led the way for Hutchinson in the afternoon round with five birdies and no bogeys in a round of 5-under 67. Dominic Clemons and Crockett were next with 1-over 73s as the Blue Dragons shot a second-round low of 1-under 287 to extend their lead to 15 strokes.

Crockett is the individual leader while Partridge and Saffel are part of a five-way tie for second place after 36 holes.

Crockett leads the tournament by one stroke at 3-under 141. There are 32 players within eight strokes of Crockett's lead.

Partridge recovered from an opening-round 75 to finish at 2-under 242 after the first day. Saffell shot 76 in the afternoon round and finished at 2-under 242.

Also in the five-way tie for second is former Blue Dragon Trey McCrae – a member of the 2021 NJCAA national championship team now playing at Missouri Southern.

Sophomore Cameron Rios-Ceballos is tied for 16th at 2-over 146 after rounds of 72 and 74.

Clemons is tied for 51st at 8-over 152 after rounds of 79 and 73 on Monday.

Blue Dragon individual player, freshman Finn Nelson, is tied for 73rd after two rounds at 156 with rounds of 77 and 79 on Monday.
