Hutchinson CC Sports Information
The Hutchinson Community College men's golf team looks to continue what turned out to be a record-setting performance last week in the first fall tournament of 2020.
The Blue Dragons will be the only NJCAA team in the NCAA Division II Midwestern State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Wichita Falls, Texas. The 10-team field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday on the Par 71 Wichita Falls Country Club Course.
One week ago at the CSU-Pueblo Farmers' Insurance/Samuel Proal Classic, the Blue Dragons Par 72 team records for a single round (279) and team score after 54 holes (847). The Dragons tied for third last week in Colorado.
One of the teams to finish ahead of Hutchinson last week, Texas A&M-International, will be in this week's tournament.
Head Coach Chris Young will have the same lineup as last week. That lineup included sophomore Charlie Crockett and freshmen Trey McCrae, Harry Crockett, Ben Partridge and Cameron Rios-Ceballos. Charlie Hilton will be added this week as an individual player.
Last week the Blue Dragons collectively posted seven rounds under par and four more even-par rounds of the 15 total rounds played in the 54-hole tournament. Charlie Crockett, Partridge and McCrae all finished in the Top 10 individually. McCrae posted a career-low 68 in the final round last Tuesday.
The Midwestern State Classic is the second of four fall tournaments for the Blue Dragons.
