LUBBOCK, Texas – The Hutchinson Community College men's golf team shot a 303 on Wednesday and is now in 12th place after two rounds of the NJCAA Men's Division I Golf Championship at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

With tougher scoring conditions on Wednesday, the Blue Dragons were 10 strokes higher than Tuesday's opening round. Hutchinson is just four strokes out of the Top 10 with a 36-hole total of 596.

Sophomore Doug Rios-Ceballos led the Blue Dragons with an even-par 72 in the second round. He had four birdies and four bogeys in his round on Wednesday. The Blue Dragons also counted a 74 from Cole Gritton, 78 from Matt Percy and 79 from Andrew Rios-Ceballos.

Percy remains the highest-placing Blue Dragons after 36 holes. He is tied for 18th at 1-over 145. Percy shot a career-low 67 on Tuesday.

Doug Rios-Ceballos is tied for 35th at 3-over 147. He shot a 75 in the opening round.

Gritton is tied for 46th at 5-over 149. Gritton also shot 75.

Andrew Rios-Ceballos is tied for 79th at 157. Max Smith shot his second-straight round of 80 on Wednesday and is 97th at 160.

District III rivals Indian Hills and Iowa Western are tied for the team lead after 36 holes at 564. McLennan is third at 572, Midland fourth at 573 and Central Alabama fifth 574.

Joel Durnford from Iowa Western is the individual leader at 11-under 133.

The Blue Dragons will be paired with Dodge City and Wallace State for Thursday's third round with tee times from 10:10 to 10:50 a.m.
