HUTCH GOLFERS CLOSE FALL SEASON WITH 3RD-PLACE DR. PEPPER FINISH

WACO, Texas – Two Hutchinson Community College men's golfers finished in the individual Top 10 and the Blue Dragons finished the 2017 fall season with a three-place performance at the Dr. Pepper Classis on Tuesday at Twin Rivers Golf Club.

Hutchinson shaves six strokes off its Monday score and finished with a 36-hole team total of 620. Hutchinson shot 307 on Tuesday. The Dragons finished behind McLennan College (594) and Ranger College (613).

Douglas Rios-Ceballos shot a second-straight 76 on Tuesday to finish as the top Blue Dragon individually. Rios-Ceballos was eighth overall at 152.

Freshman Joseph O'Neill shot the low Blue Dragon round of Tuesday with a 3-over 75. O'Neill tied for ninth at 153.

Sophomore Matt Percy matched his Monday round with a 78 on Tuesday. Percy placed 17th at 156.

Andrew Rios-Ceballos tied for 24th in Texas at 158. He shot 78 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Cole Gritton tied for 38th at 163 after an 82 in the final round.

Individual player Max Smith tied for 28th at 160 after shooting 81 on Tuesday. Lake Leroux tied for 34th at 162 after a final-round 79 on Tuesday.

The Blue Dragons will start their spring season in late March. The spring season includes the three Jayhawk Conference-designated tournaments that decide team and individual honors for the league.
