COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The final round of the Iowa Western Bent Tree Intercollegiate was canceled on Tuesday because of weather.

The six-team field was supposed to tee off the final round of the tournament at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, but the weather did not cooperate. Temperatures in Council Bluffs were 39 degrees with a wind chill of 29, cloudy skies and a north wind of 25 gusting to 40. More precipitation was in Tuesday's forecast for western Iowa.

That meant the tournament was cut to 36 holes and the Nos. 4 and 6 Blue Dragons finished third behind two teams ahead of them in the national rankings. No. 1 Indian Hills won the tournament at 586, 18 shots ahead of No. 3 Iowa Western. The Blue Dragons finished third with a team score of 617 after Monday rounds of 304 and 313.

Sophomore Andrew Rios-Ceballos was Hutchinson's top placer, finishing in a tie for fourth place with a 4-over 148. Rios-Ceballos had an ever-par round of 72 to open Monday and then carded a 76 in the second round.

Matt Percy tied for 13th with a 154. Doug Rios-Ceballos was 15th with a 157. Freshman Joseph O'Neill tied for 16th at 158. Sophomore Cole Gritton tied for 20th at 161.

The Blue Dragons had two individual players in the field. Freshman Max Smith tied for 23rd at 163. Freshman Lake LeRoux was 37th with a 187.

The Blue Dragons are next in action next Monday and Tuesday at the NJCAA National Preview at NJCAA National Preview in Lubbock, Texas.
