TyReece Berry is in his second season as a Blue Dragon assistant coach. This is Berry’s first coaching assignment.
Berry’s first season with the Blue Dragons concluded with a 26-9 record, a second-place finish in the Jayhawk Conference, a Region VI Tournament runner-up finish and advancing to the second round of the 2022 NJCAA Tournament as an at-large team.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native closed out his playing days in March 2021 when he played his final game for York College in York, Nebraska. Before playing at York, Berry played in junior college at Independence Community College.
At York, Berry was a two-year starter and two-year team captain. He averaged 11.0 points and 4.3 assists at York. Berry was a two-year starter at Independence for coach Tony Turner. He was a team captain in both seasons with the Pirates.
A 2017 graduate of Muskogee High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Berry earned an AA and ASA from Independence in 2019 and earned his Sports Management degree from York College in 2021.
