Dudley led the Blue Dragons with a career-high 29 points against Colby. Khalil Arnold came off the bench to spark the Blue Dragons with a career-high-tying 14 points.
The Blue Dragons will be playing an Independence team that has already improved last season's win total by three games with four total wins already this season for second-year head coach Jai Steadman.
The Pirates have lost two games in a row, including a 98-94 setback to Coffeyville on Tuesday in a game where Independence had a 14-point lead late in the first half. Chiante Tramble and Chris Dockery combined for 51 points to lead the Pirates against Coffeyville. The Pirates shoot an eye-popping 57.8 percent from the floor, but were stung by 17 turnovers.
Saturday's match-up will be the 81st in a series that began back in 1931. The Blue Dragons own a 57-23 series lead over Independence and have won a series-record 17-consecutive games over the Pirates. Hutchinson last lost to Independence in the 2005 Jayhawk Shootout and their last loss at the ICC Fieldhouse dates back to 1987, a streak of eight-straight wins.
Last season the Blue Dragons won a pair of high-scoring games, winning 198-89 in Independence and 111-82 at the Sports Arena.
