Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team gets a crack to knock off the top dog in the Jayhawk West on Saturday at the Sports Arena.

Conference leader and No. 16-ranked Colby comes into the Sports Arena for a rematch with the Blue Dragons at 7:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The game will be HutchCC's ninth-annual Pink-Out Night.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) at 7:20 p.m. with Glen Grunwald (play-by-play) and Dan Naccarato (color) calling the action. The game will also be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 7:20 p.m.

Winners of three games in a row following Wednesday's 71-64 victory at Dodge City, the Blue Dragons look for a late-season statement win against the Trojans, who are seeking their first-ever Jayhawk West championship.

Entering play on Saturday, Colby (23-4) is riding an eight-game winning streak and leads the Jayhawk West with a 15-3 record. The Trojans are two games in front of Barton with three games to play.

The Blue Dragons remain tied for third with Pratt in the West standings. After splitting with Pratt in its season series, a win over Colby could set the Blue Dragons up for a potential tie-breaker with Pratt if the need arises.

If Hutchinson beats Colby and the Trojans still win the league, should the Dragons and Beavers end up tied, pending Colby's game with Pratt next Saturday, the Blue Dragons could finish third in the West.

Josh Baker had 21 points and Clarence King added 14 in the Blue Dragons' victory over Dodge City on Wednesday, clinching the 13th-straight 20-win season and 53rd overall in Blue Dragon history.

The Trojans won their eighth-consecutive game on Wednesday defeating Seward County 85-65 at Colby. Six Colby players scored in double figures led by Alexandre Fanchini, who had four 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 19 points.

Colby won the first meeting with Hutchinson on January 26 at the Colby Community Building 83-79. The Blue Dragons shot 60.4 percent in the game and failed to hold a two-point halftime lead.

Tyler Brown had 19 points and Saquan Singleton added 17 to lead Hutchinson against Colby. Eddie Davis had 24 points and Demarcus Sharp had 10 points for Colby.

Saturday's contest will be the 56th all-time between Hutchinson and Colby. The Blue Dragons won the first 17 meetings in series history and holds an all-time record over the Trojans of 50-5 The Blue Dragons are 26-1 vs. Colby at the Sports Arena.

Colby has never swept the Blue Dragons in a season series in series history.
