Hutchinson Community College freshman forward Majok Kuath was named the Jayhawk Conference Men's Division I Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Kuath is the fourth different Blue Dragon to win the conference's weekly honor joining Tyler Brown, Saquan Singleton and Josh Baker.

Kuath put together back-to-back big games last week, albeit in a 1-1 week for the Blue Dragons. For the week the freshman from Salt Lake City averaged 25.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocked shots. He shot 83.3 percent overall and 81.8 percent from the foul line.

Against No. 20 Cowley, Kuath had career highs of 34 points and 15 rebounds, going 13 of 15 from the field and a perfect 8 of 8 from the line.

Kuath is now eligible for NJCAA national weekly honors. That award will be announced Wednesday.
