The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team held the Butler Grizzlies 18 points under their season-scoring average and to under 34-percent shooting to complete a season sweep on Saturday night at the Sports Arena.

Five Blue Dragons scored in double figures as Hutchinson defeated Butler 79-68 on Hall of Fame Night.

The Blue Dragons improve to 21-4 overall and 17-4 in the Jayhawk Conference in winning their fourth game in a row. Hutchinson remains tied with Coffeyville one game behind Barton. The Blue Dragons travel to Barton on Wednesday.

Sophomore Devonte Bandoo led the Blue Dragons with 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Sophomore Rob Whitfield broke out of a shooting slump with three 3-point goals and 16 points,

Sophomore J.J. Rhymes had 15 points to move into 13th place on the Blue Dragon career scoring list with 1,105 points.

Freshman Curtis Hollis and sophomore Kai Mitchell had 10 points each. Mitchell added six rebounds.

The Blue Dragons shot 45.3 percent for the game (24 of 53), going 5 of 15 from 3-point range and 26 of 34 from the free-throw line. Rebounding was even at 40.

Russell Smith led Butler with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jared Armstrong finished with 16 points. Ketarrious Bouchum had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Grizzlies were held to 23 of 68 shooting (33.8 percent), hitting 5 of 22 from 3-point range and 17 of 21 from the free-throw line. Butler was held to 10 of 33 shooting in the first half as Hutchinson outscored the Grizzlies 42-32.
