Hutchinson Community College sophomore guard J.J. Rhymes earned his second Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week award after a week in which he averaged 28.0 points per game.
Rhymes, a sophomore guard from Phoenix, had games of 25 points and 31 points against Cowley and Allen, respectively. Rhymes also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the No. 6 Blue Dragons.
Against Allen, Rhymes broke 30 points in a game for the third time in his career in leading Hutch to a 103-75 win Allen. Rhymes tied a career-best 13 field goals and added four assists.
Against Cowley, Rhymes scored 25 points, but dished out a career-high eight assists in an eight-point loss to the Tigers at Ark City.
Rhymes is currently the Jayhawk Conference's leading scorer at 20.6 points per game.
Rhymes also won the Player of the Week on December 12. Devonte Bandoo also has one league weekly honor this season.
