The final NJCAA Division I Football Rankins were released on Friday with the Hutchinson Community College Football team firmly atop the No. 1 spot.
Hutchinson won its second national championship in program history on Wednesday night in Canyon, Texas by defeating Iowa Western 28-23.
The 2024 Blue Dragons finished the season 11-1. The Dragons started the season ranked No. 3 in the preseason rankings. Three polls into the season, the Blue Dragons ascended to the No. 1 spot and spent six weeks at No. 1. From that point in the season, the Dragons fluctuated between the No. 2 and No. 3 spots the rest of the season, finishing at No. 3 in the final regular-season poll.
The Dragons earned a spot in the NJCAA playoffs and defeated No. 2 Georgia Military 63-21 in the national semifinals and defeated the Reivers on Wednesday night in the title game.
The Blue Dragons have finished seven-straight seasons with a national ranking. The have appeared in 49 consecutive national polls, a streak that dates back to Week 9 of the 2021 season.
In the 68 polls released since Blue Dragon head coach Drew Dallas was hired, the Blue Dragons have appeared in 62 of those polls. Of those 62 polls, the Dragons were ranked No. 1 36 times and were ranked in the Top 3 57 times, including the last 46 polls consecutively.
The final Top 5 has Hutchinson, Iowa Western, Georgia Military, Northwest Mississippi and Navarro.
The KJCCC had four teams finish in the Top 15. Hutchinson was No. 1, Coffeyville was No. 8, Butler was No. 12 and Dodge City was No. 15.
