
Hutchinson CC Sports Information
The Hutchinson Community College football team's sixth time as the No. 1-ranked team in the NJCAA Division I Poll came to an end on Monday.
Following the Blue Dragons' 27-22 loss to then-No. 13 Butler on Saturday, the Blue Dragons slipped two spots to No. 3, ending a six-week stay as the nation's top-ranked team. Previous to Monday's rankings release, the Blue Dragons had been the No. 1-ranked team in 36 of the 62 polls released since Drew Dallas took over as Hutchinson's head coach before the 2020/21 season.
This is the 43rd consecutive poll the Dragons have been ranked, which is the second-longest run in the rankings in program history. The Blue Dragon record for consecutive weeks ranked in the polls is 45, which was set from 2010 to 2013. The Dragons have been ranked the nation's Top 3 for 39 consecutive polls.

Iowa Western took over the No. 1 spot, getting 11 of 12 first-place votes. Hutchinson had the other first-place vote.
Georgia Military moved to No. 2, followed by Hutchinson, Northwest Mississippi and Mississippi Gulf Coast round out the top five teams.
Butler jumped up to No. 10, Coffeyville climbed to No. 13 and Dodge City returned to the national rankings at No. 15.
The Blue Dragons have their second bye week of the season this week, but returns to action to Saturday, November 9 to play host to the Highland Scotties.
