Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College football team won its seven overall and first KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week award on Wednesday.

Freshman defensive back Kollin Collier had two interceptions to help the No. 1-ranked Blue Dragons to a 40-17 victory at No. 12 Coffeyville on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville.

Collier, a freshman from Cordova, Tennessee, became the first Blue Dragon since last season to have multiple interceptions in a game. Both of Collier's interceptions eventually led to Blue Dragon touchdowns and his interception in the left corner of the end zone prevented a Red Raven potential score in the second half.

Overall, Collier had four total tackles and had one pass defended as well as a tackle for loss.

Collier's interceptions were two of five total takeaways by the Blue Dragons against Coffeyville.
