DODGE CITY – The No. 2-ranked Hutchinson Community College Football team rolled up a season-high 599 total yards as head coach Drew Dallas, quarterback Dylan Laible and receiver Malik Benson all reached milestones in a Jayhawk Conference victory on Saturday at Dodge City.

The Blue Dragons extended their winning streak to 12 games after defeating the Conquistadors 47-14 at Memorial Stadium.

The Blue Dragons start a season 6-0 for the seventh time in program history. The Dragons are now 3-0 in conference play with a bye week next Saturday and a road game in two weeks at Garden City. Dodge City is now 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the Jayhawk.

With the victory, Dallas earned his 23rd victory in his first 25 games as head coach, which is the most wins through 25 games of any Blue Dragon coach in program history.

With a 10-yard completion to Treymon Echols on his first pass of the game, Laible became the Blue Dragons' career passing leader with 4,921 yards, surpassing Luke Barnes.

With 112 receiving yards on Saturday, Benson moved past Hall of Famer Lonnie Crittenden into second place on the Blue Dragon career receiving yards list with 1,756 yards.

Hutchinson's season-high 599 total yards included a season-high 393 passing yards. Laible, who played only one series into the second half, completed 14 of 26 passes for 217 yards with two touchdowns. Sophomore Collin Shields threw for a career-high 176 yards on 8 of 12 passing with a touchdown.

Benson posted his ninth career 100-yard game with 136 receiving yards on seven receptions. Benson had touchdown catches of 80 and 8 yards. The 80 yarder was the sixth time Benson has had at least an 80-yard reception in his career.

Micah Woods had three catches for 44 yards. Ten different receivers made catches, including Tristan Smith, who had a 79-yard touchdown reception from Shields.

Running back Dylan Kedzior had his second-straight 100-yard performance, running for a game-high 117 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. Tim Byrd Jr. had 42 rushing yards on five carries. Jaheim Simmons had 37 rushing yards. The Blue Dragons rushed for 206 yards against the Conquistadors.

Blue Dragon kicker Cole Segraves made four field goals from 35, 33, 45 and a career-long 46 yards. Segraves became the first Blue Dragon kicker with four field goals in a game since Kevin Coleman in 2004.

Hutchinson's defense held Dodge City to 300 total yards – 42 rushing yards and 258 passing.

The Blue Dragons scored on their first two possessions of the game.

Kedzior's 1-yard touchdown run capped an 11-play, 76-yard scoring march for a 7-0 lead with 8:41 to play in the opening quarter. One play after a Jaymar Mundy interception in the end zone, Laible found Benson in the middle of the field for an 80-yard throw-and-run for a 14-0 lead with 5:08 to play in the opening quarter.

Segraves made it 17-0 with a 35-yard field goal with 8:33 to play in the second quarter. After a Blue Dragon defensive stop and Darby Roper 40-yard punt return to the Dodge City 22, Benson caught an 8-yard touchdown from Laible for a 24-0 Dragon lead with 6:14 remaining in the first half.

The Dragons led 27-0 at halftime after Segraves booted a 33-yard field goal with 54 seconds left in the second quarter.

Segraves twice kicked career-long field goals in the third quarter, first from 45 yards and the second from 46 yards for a 33-0 Dragon lead with 8:16 remaining in the third quarter.

Leading 33-7 after three quarters, A Simmons 2-yard touchdown run capped a 13-play, 89-yard scoring drive that took 7:10 off the clock for a 40-7 lead with 11:01 remaining in the game. Smith's 79-yard touchdown reception came with 9:38 left gave the Dragons a 47-7 lead.

Dodge City's Jalen Rose Hannah had second-half touchdown catches of 5 and 7 yards for Dodge City's points. Dodge quarterback Grant Ciccarone was 22 of 39 for 258 yards.
