PAIR OF BLUE DRAGONS EARN CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONORS

Erin Collins was named the Jayhawk Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Dezmon Jackson was named the league's special teams Player of the Week.

Two members of the Hutchinson Community College football team were recognized by the Jayhawk Conference as Players of the Week for their performances last Thursday in a 30-12 victory over Ellsworth at Gowans Stadium.

Erin Collins, a running back from Plant City, Florida, was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week. Dezmon Jackson, a sophomore from El Dorado, Arkansas, was named the league's Special Teams Player of the Week.

Collins, a transfer from North Carolina State, made a big Blue Dragon debut scoring three touchdowns in the Blue Dragons' season opener.

Collins rushed for a game-high 104 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns. Collins had a huge second have with 85 yards coming in the final two quarters. Collins had touchdown runs of 1, 9 and 46 yards.

He also had three receptions for 23 yards.

DEZMON JACKSON
Jackson had a game-high 179 all-purpose yards with 117 coming on three kickoff returns in Hutchinson's 30-12 season-opening victory over Ellsworth.

Jackson had a long return of 73 yards.
