
Hutchinson CC Sports Information
The Hutchinson Community College baseball team was picked to finish third in the 2025 Jayhawk Conference Coaches Poll.
The Blue Dragons received four first-place votes, while Cloud County and Barton had three each. Both the Thunderbirds and the Cougars tied for first in the preseason poll with 71 points and the Blue Dragons had 66 points.
The rest of the preseason poll has Butler at No. 4, Dodge City at No. 5, Seward County at No. 6, Colby at No. 7, Garden City at No. 8 and Pratt at No. 9.
Hutchinson is the defending Jayhawk West champions after a record-setting 51-13 record. The Blue Dragons won the league with a 27-5 record. The Dragons advanced all the way to the Region 6 Tournament championship game, forcing a second championship game after dropping the first game of the tournament.
Beginning his second season, head coach Brock Nehls returns a pair of position starters and one returning starting pitcher. The Dragons have nine returning players overall from 2024.
The Blue Dragons open the 2025 season on February 6 with a doubleheader against Hesston College at Hobart-Detter Field. Hutchinson opens the Jayhawk West season on March 6 and 8 against Dodge City. The Blue Dragons and Conquistadors play at Hobart-Detter Field on March 8.
