MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma – Quinn Maher had a pair of RBIs and four Blue Dragon pitched allowed only a combined three hits as the Hutchinson Community College baseball team completed a two-game series sweep of the Rose State Raiders on Saturday.

The Blue Dragons rallied from an early one-run deficit, scoring a combined seven runs in the third and fourth innings to complete a 10-2 victory over the Raiders.

Hutchinson is now 7-0 to start the season. The last time the Blue Dragons started a season 7-0 was 2006. The Blue Dragons are back on the road next weekend at nationally ranked McLennan College in Waco, Texas.

Tied at 1-1 after two innings, Maher's two-run single drove in Colin Cymbalista and Jordan Tucker for a 3-1 lead. One batter later, Cody Gunderson's sacrifice fly to center scored Maher for a 4-1 lead.

Blake Bradford's RBI double started a four-run fourth inning. Bradford later scored in the back end of a double steal for a 6-1 lead. Cymbalista's groundout scored Tucker and Kael Babin completed the inning when he scored on a wild pitch for an 8-1 lead.

Aggressive Blue Dragon base running led to two runs in the top of the sixth. After Tucker was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a Babin double, both players scored on the same wild pitch for a 10-1 lead.

The Blue Dragons out-hit Rose State 6-3 with six different players having one hit each. Babin, Gunderson and Bradford all had doubles. Maher had two RBIs, while Gunderson and Bradford had a single RBI each.

Trenton Roehler drew the start on the mound and worked the first four innings. Roehler struck out five and walked one while giving up a first-inning earned run and two hits.

The Blue Dragon bullpen combined for 10 strikeouts and just one hit allowed.

Sam Ojeda (2-0) worked the fourth and fifth inning with no hits three walks and four strikeouts. Caden Wanless struck out five in two perfect innings. Jacob Hadden struck out three and gave up a single in the ninth inning.

The combined 15 strikeouts tied for the 11th most strikeouts in Blue Dragon single-game history.
