Hutchinson Community College sophomore outfielder/designated hitter Will Reetz hit .579 last week and was named the Jayhawk Conference Week 9 Baseball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

The sophomore from Elkhorn, Nebraska, was 11 for 19 in six games last week, posting a .579 (11 for 19) with a .789 slugging percentage and .609 on-base percentage.

Reetz had four multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 outing with a home run and two RBIs in a Game 1 victory over Butler.

Reetz ended the week on an eight-game hitting streak. He was hitting .434 for the season.

This is the first weekly conference honor for the third-year Blue Dragon. This is also first time this season a Blue Dragon player has won Player of the Week honors.
