MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – The Hutchinson Community College offense had eight extra base hits, including two home runs, and Mike Brown was again strong out of the bullpen as the No. 20-ranked Blue Dragons won a three-game series from Rose State on Friday.

The top three batters of the Hutchinson order combined for eight RBIs in a 12-7 victory to give the Blue Dragons the series 2-1. Rose State won the first game, but Hutchinson's offense had 29 runs on 29 hits with five home runs in the final two games of the series.

The Blue Dragons improve to 7-3 overall and will open Jayhawk Conference play at home next Thursday against Cloud County.

The Blue Dragons led 6-0 after 1 1/2 innings when the defense broke down. Hutch committed four of its five errors in the second and third innings as Rose State came back to tie the game at 6-all after three innings. Four of the six runs allowed in that stretch were unearned.

Hutchinson reclaimed the lead when Zach Schmidt hit his first career home run with one out in the fourth inning. Logan Sartori. Zach Baxley added an RBI double and later scored on a Raider error to led 9-6 after 3 1/2 innings. The Dragons added one in the fifth and two more in the ninth.

Brown (2-0) entered the game with two out in the second inning for Matt Delcambre, who battled control issues again with four walks. After allowing three unearned runs in the third to tie the game at 6, Brown threw five scoreless innings as the Dragons eventually pulled away.

Brown struck out 11 in 6 2-3 innings. He allowed five hits, four runs, only one was earned, and two walks.

Delcambre allowed just one hit in 1 2-3 innings and struck out three. Ryan Summers pitched the final two-thirds of an inning with two strikeouts and a hit allowed.

Sartori went 3 for 5 with a double and his fourth home run of the season, a two-run homer in Hutch's five-run second inning.

Schmidt was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Will Reetz was 2 for 5 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Baxley was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI.

Dylan Nedved extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a second-inning RBI triple in the second. Nedved was 1 for 6 with three RBIs.
