Ryan Hilty has been with Blue Dragon Athletics since 2001 as the assistant certified athletic trainer. In the spring of 2016, Hilty was promoted to Coordinator of Sports Medicine at Hutchinson Community College.
Hilty went through the HutchCC Sports Medicine program as a student in the early 1990s and also served as the Blue Dragon softball team’s assistant softball coach in 1992.
After a tumultuous 2020-21 Covid 19-impacted season which was thrown completely out of the norm, especially for sports medicine, Hilty kept the Blue Dragons healthy throughout the 2020-21 season. He was named the Hutchinson Community College Employee of the Semester for the 2020-21 spring semester.
Since coming to Hutchinson as an assistant, Hilty has helped the program become a full-service two training-room program. Hilty oversaw the construction and installation of the new Sports Medicine Center in the renovated Hutchinson Sports Arena, as well as maintaining the Sports Medicine Room at Gowans Stadium.
A Salina, Kansas, native, Hilty came to HutchCC Sports Medicine after working in Chanute, Kansas, at a sports clinic.
Prior to that, Hilty was an athletic trainer with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hilty earned his degree at Iowa State University.
Hilty and his wife, Lynnette, have one daughter, Kacia (granddaughter Rynlee), and one son, Carson. Lynnette is an admissions counselor for Hutchinson Community College.
