For the second time this season, Hutchinson Community College sophomore setter Andrea Serrano has been named the Jayhawk Conference Setter of the Week.

Serrano, a 5-foot-5 setter from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, led the Blue Dragons with 8.73 assists per set and to a 3-0 record last week, including a sweep of No. 12 Seward County.

Serrano had 37 assists against Dodge City, 35 against Dodge City – both matches were four-set wins – and 24 assists against No. 12 Seward County.

Serrano added eight service aces and six total digs over the week. Serrano is averaging 6.64 sets as the lead setter in the Blue Dragons' 6-2 offense.

Serrano also won conference Setter of the Week honors on August 30.

This is the fifth time this season a Blue Dragon Volleyball player has earned conference weekly honors. Along with her two awards, Serrano joins Baylee Miller and Anna Dean, who won Offensive Player of the Week awards, and Morgan Harvey, who won the Defensive Player of the Week award.

The Blue Dragons play at Cloud County on Wednesday.
