CONCORDIA – The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team rally from six points down in the third set to finish off a second-straight Jayhawk West sweep on Friday night.

The Blue Dragons defeated Cloud County in the Thunderbirds' home opener 25-19, 25-14, 25-11 at the Thunderdome. The Blue Dragons improve to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Jayhawk West. Cloud County drops to 2-5 and 0-2.

After strong performances in the first two sets, the Blue Dragons trailed Cloud County 11-5 in the third set. The Dragons rallied back to won the set and complete their fourth sweep of the season.

Sophomore Page Hiebert hit .296 and led the Blue Dragons with 10 kills on 27 attacks. Hiebert also had nine digs and four block assists.

Sophomore Nina Pevic continued her strong play with nine kills on .563 hitting. Sophomore Tatyana Ndekwe had eight kills and a career-high seven total blocks. Ndekwe hit .471. Freshman Leonie Weinkaemper had five kills.

Sophomore Katie Jorn finished with 24 assists, while freshman Payton Gawith had 13 assists.

Freshmen Raychel Reed and Claira Creach led the Blue Dragons with 14 digs each.

The Blue Dragons return home on Wednesday to take on Dodge City at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.
