WICHITA – Freshman Madelyn Hernandez had a Top 5 finish in the high jump and a personal record in the 100-meter hurdles to lead the Hutchinson Community College women's track and field team on Saturday at the KT Woodman Classic at Wichita State's Cessna Stadium.

Hernandez finished third in the Woodman high jump with a clearance of 5 feet, 4.5 inches (1.64m), her second-best performance of the season.

During the high jump, Hernandez stepped onto the track and posted a PR in the 100-meter hurdles. She finished 10th in the 100-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 14.96 seconds, which is only .25 seconds off the national qualifying time.

In a field filled with NCAA Division I and Division II talent as well as top NAIA and NJCAA competition, the Blue Dragons had 10 new PRs over the two days of the KT Woodman Classic.

Freshman Liberty Limon and sophomore Emme Watkins had top performances in the triple jump. Limon went 34-9 (10.60m). Watkins went 31-10.75 (9.72m).

Sophomore Keneah Romney ran 1L08.93 in the 400-meter hurdles, which is a career-best time.

Sophomore Sydney Grauer knocked 50 full seconds off her previous-best 3,000-meter steeplechase time. Grauer ran 13:00.80 on Friday night.

Freshman Taylor Hoskinson PR'ed in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:02.32.

Four Blue Dragons had PRs in the 800 meters – Gracie Lambert ran 2:27.29, Daisy Orozco ran 2:39.24, Courtney Baetz ran 2:43.52 and Aidyn White ran 2:48.11.

The Blue Dragons next compete at the Bethel Invitational on Saturday in North Newton.
