Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Six members of the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team earned 2023 All-Jayhawk Conference and all Region VI honors on Monday.

Midfielders Kaitlyn Edwards and Jayda Wyatt and forward Adriana Delgado were named to the first team. Goalkeeper Karsyn Slothower and forward Katharina Marx were named to the second team and midfield Tatiana Mayumi was named honorable mention.

The 2023 Blue Dragons finished the season ranked 16th in the final NJCAA Division I national rankings. Hutchinson finished 12-5-3 this past season and was fourth in the Jayhawk Conference with a 9-4-3 record.

KAITLYN EDWARDS – 1st Team
The freshman midfielder from Wichita tied for the team lead in goals with 13 goals and led the Blue Dragons with 33 points. Edwards also had eight assists and three game-winning goals.

Edwards had three two-goal games this season against Northeastern, Seward County and Barton. She had a season-high five points in a two-goal, one assist game against Seward County on August 26.

JAYDA WYATT – 1st Team
The sophomore from Wichita had eight goals and four assists this season. She registered her only game-winning goal against Coffeyville on October 11.

Wyatt had a pair of two-goal games against Seward County and Coffeyville.

ADRIANA DELGADO – 1st Team
The sophomore from Wichita is a two-time all-conference performer for the Blue Dragons. Delgado earned second-team honors as a freshman.

Delgado tied for team-high honors with 13 goals and was third in points scored with 32. Delgado had six assists and two game-winning goals.

Delgado had a career-high four goals and nine points in a 10-0 victory over Crowder on September 2. She then scored perhaps the most important single goal of the season when she scored the game-tying goal with 5 minutes to play in a 1-1 tie against nationally ranked Butler on September 6 at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

KARSYN SLOTHOWER – 2nd Team
The freshman from Maize put together one of the best single seasons for a Blue Dragon goalkeeper in program history.

Slothower posted the second-most saves in program history in a single season with 95 saves. Her 0.96 goals-against average is No. 15 in program history. She had an .833 saves percentage with seven shutouts. Slothower's 12 wins tie for fifth most in team single-season history.

The Blue Dragon keeper had 14 saves in a 1-0 victory over Barton on September 13. She had five games of seven or more saves this season.

KATHARINA MARX – 2nd Team
The freshman from Saarbrucken, Germany had 12 goals, nine assists and 33 points this season.

Marx had a goal and three assists in her Blue Dragon debut against Northeastern on August 20. She had a pair of two-goal games against Crowder and Garden City.

TATIANA MAYUMI – Honorable Mention
A sophomore transfer from Sao Paulo, Brazil had two goals and five assists this season. Mayumi was also solid on the defensive end of the field.
