SLOTHOWER EARNS THIRD CONFERENCE KEEPER OF THE WEEK AWARD

After a 2-0 week, including a second victory over a nationally ranked opponent, Hutchinson Community College freshman Karsyn Slothower was named the Jayhawk Conference Division I Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season.

Slothower posted two victories in goal for the No. 10 Blue Dragons, including a road shutout against No. 18 Butler in a 2-0 week for Hutchinson.

For the week, Slothower had five saves and allowed just one goal and posted her seventh shutout of the season.

After just one save against Dodge City, Slothower had a four-save performance in the shutout of Butler, the first win for Hutchinson at BG Products Stadium since 2014.

Slothower also earned KJCCC Keeper of the Week awards on September 12 and September 19. She was named the NJCAA national Keeper of the week on September 20.

Slothower is now 11-1-3 this season with seven shutouts. Her 0.53 goals-against average is second in the KJCCC and her 70 saves are third most in the Jayhawk this season.

This is the eighth time this season a Blue Dragon player earned either Player or Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
