Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team made its way back into the Top 10 on Monday after a jump of three spots in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Rankings.

Posting victories over Garden City and Seward County last week, the Blue Dragons jumped to No. 10 in this week's national rankings.

The Blue Dragons are 9-1-3 overall and are 6-1-3 (21 points) in the KJCCC, where they are in second place entering action this week.

The Blue Dragons were ranked as high as No. 8 two weeks ago in their first trip into the Top 10 since 2014. A 1-0 loss to Cowley on September 22 dropped the Blue Dragons to No. 13 last week.

This week features to big games for Hutchinson. The Blue Dragons play host to Dodge City – a team that defeated then-No. 10 Kansas City 2-0 on Sunday. Hutchinson then travels to No. 18 Butler on Saturday.

Barton remains the highest of five ranked Jayhawk Conference teams in the national poll. After the Blue Dragons at No. 10, Kansas City drops four spots to No. 14. Cowley drops four spots to No. 16 and Butler drops one slot to No. 18.

Iowa Western, Tyler, Seminole State and Daytona State remain in the Nos. 1 through 4 spots. Salt Lake is the new No. 5 team in this week's poll.

The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in 12 consecutive ranking periods.
