For the first time since October 13, 2010, the Salthawk Soccer Complex will play host to an NJCAA Top 10 women's soccer matchup on Saturday.

The No. 8 Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team (7-0-3) meets No. 10 Cowley (4-1-2) at 2 p.m. at the Salthawk Soccer Complex. There is no admission to the game and the game will be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 1:55 p.m.

The last time the Blue Dragons played host to a Top 10 national matchup, No. 6 Hutchinson defeated No. 3 Johnson County 2-1.

Saturday's matchup features the Jayhawk Conference first-place Blue Dragons (4-0-3, 15 points) and the Tigers (4-1-2, 14 points).

Hutchinson has had a week off since a 1-1 draw with No. 18 Kansas City last Saturday in Kansas City. Cowley suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, dropping a 3-2 decision to Kansas City in Arkansas City.

Saturday's game ends a run of four ranked opponents in five games for the Blue Dragons. So far, the Blue Dragons have tied No. 9 Butler 1-1, defeated No. 8 Barton 1-0 and drew with No. 18 KCK 1-1 during that span of games. The Dragons face the same gauntlet of opponents starting on October 7 at Butler.

Offensively, sophomore forward Adriana Delgado is fourth in the nation with 11 goals and sixth in the NJCAA with 24 points.

Freshmen Kaitlyn Edwards and Katharina Marx have seven goals each and sophomore Jayda Wyatt has four girls. Marx is the team leader with six assists. Edwards has four assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Karsyn Slothower has been exceptional in net for Hutchinson. She is currently 7-0-3 with a 0.40 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage. Slothower has 52 saves and only four goals allowed through 10 games this season. She has posted six shutouts.

Coming off a 14-save shutout against Barton last week, Slothower was named the NJCAA National Goalkeeper of the Week on Wednesday.

Cowley owns a 4-3 road victory at Butler on September 9 when the Tigers rallies with two goals in the final three minutes to erase a one-goal deficit and stun the Grizzlies.

Offensively, the Tigers are led by Hina Susuki, who has four goals and eight points. Nanaka Inaba has three goals, a team-high four assists and 10 points.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kanon Dehama has a 2.00 goals-against average and a .655 save percentage. Freshman keeper Marin Peoples was a 1.00 goals-against average and a .750 save percentage.

The Blue Dragons are 14-3-1 all-time against Cowley.
