DRAGONS CLIMB TO NO. 11 IN NJCAA SOCCER RANKINGS

The Blue Dragon women's soccer team is ranked No. 11 in this week's NJCAA national rankings.

Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team earned its highest national rankings since 2014 when the Blue Dragons earned a No. 11 national mark in the latest poll released on Monday.

Earning a 1-1 draw with then-No. 9 Butler and a 4-1 Jayhawk Conference road victory last week, the Blue Dragons made the biggest move of any team in the poll, moving up five spots to No. 11 with a 6-0-2 record.

The last time the Blue Dragons were ranked this high was No. 9 at the end of 2014 season.

The latest national rankings once again have five teams ranked in the Top 20. Barton is No. 8 this week. Hutchinson is No. 11. Cowley moved up four spots to No. 14. Butler dropped seven spots to No. 16 and Kansas City is No. 18.

The Blue Dragons will play three-straight nationally ranked opponents starting Wednesday with No. 8 Barton at the Salthawk Sports Complex. The Dragons travel to No. 18 Kansas City on Saturday and play host to No. 14 Cowley on September 20.

Iowa Western remains No. 1in the last rankings. Tyler is at No. 2, Eastern Florida State is No. 3, Seminole State is at No. 4 and Daytona State is No. 5. The top eight teams in the rankings remained the same this week.

Hutchinson has been ranked in 10 consecutive rankings periods dating back to last season.
