Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team will play its first home match in 21 days on Wednesday when the Blue Dragons play host to the No. 16-ranked Barton Cougars.

Kickoff is at 6 p.m. at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

The last time Hutchinson played on the home pitch of the SSC was September 15, a 4-2 loss to the Cowley Tigers, who were in first place in the Jayhawk West at that time.

Now the Blue Dragons play host to another Jayhawk West first-place team in the Cougars, who are 10-1 overall and 7-1 (21 points) in league play. The Cougars and Tigers are tied for first place in the Jayhawk West entering play on Wednesday. Barton has won seven games in a row.

Since the last time the Blue Dragons played at home, they have gone 2-0 and had a game postponed with two bye weeks mixed in. Hutchinson defeated Coffeyville 3-2 and Dodge City 4-2 since the mid-September meeting with Cowley.

Hutchinson hasn't played since September 22 at Dodge City. The October 2 game at Neosho County was postponed.

Wednesday's game will feature three of the Jayhawk Conference's top scorers.

Hutchinson freshman Hadlie Lowe is tied for third in the KJCCC with eight goals. She is coming off her first career hat trick against Dodge City.

Barton's Annika Gerdau is second in the KJCCC with nine goals and Seulgi Lee is fourth with five goals.

Wednesday's matchup will be the second of the season between Hutchinson and Barton. The Cougars won 2-1 on September 1 at Great Bend. Lowe and Gerdau traded first-half goals and Lee had the game-winner for the Cougars in the 71st minute.
