The first-ever night home game for the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team had a little bit of everything on Saturday at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

The fireworks started with two combined goals in the first 1 minute, 42 seconds of the game. Then the Blue Dragons found themselves down at halftime and by a pair of goals with 37 minutes to go. Hutch then went on a furious rally with two goals in the final 14 minutes and a potential game winner wiped on because of an offsides call with 1:05 left. Both the Dragons and Cougars both missed potential game-winners on breakaway efforts.

All of that figured into an intense 3-3 Jayhawk West draw with the lights of the Salthawk Sports Complex beaming brightly. The Blue Dragons are now 3-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 (4 points) in the Jayhawk West. Barton is 0-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 (1 point) in the conference.

Trailing 3-1, the Blue Dragons got a little help from Barton in starting their late comeback. Mounting the most sustained pressure of the night against the Cougars, Naomi Waithira threaded pass into the box intended for Brailey Moeder. Before the ball reached Moeder, a Barton defender deflected the pass into the goal for an Own goal with 13:20 to play pulling Hutch within 3-2.

The Dragons continued to pressure and got a huge opportunity when the hard work of freshman forward Sydney Blackwell paid off. With a drive into the box from the right side, a Cougar defender made an aggressive tackle on Blackwell, who was taken down inside the penalty box. The Dragons were awarded a penalty kick and sophomore Brailey Moeder ripped the ball past Reyna Gonzalez for the game-tying goal with 3 minutes to play.

With 1:05 remaining in regulation, the Blue Dragons had a go-ahead goal by Waithira called off on an offsides call. The Dragons headed into their 17th overtime game in program history.

Barton had the first major chance to score in the first overtime when Larissa Fagundes couldn't finish on a length-of-field breakaway as Hutch keeper Taylor Camp took away her angle and forced a shot wide left.

The Dragons suffered the same heartbreak in the second overtime as Sydney Blackwell missed on her own breakaway with less than 3 minutes to play in the second overtime. Blackwell as turned away once more in the final minute on a Gonzalez save.

The point earned by the Blue Dragons was just the fifth time in program history that the Blue Dragons have trailed at halftime and rallied to salvage at least a point. Hutch is now 4-29-1 when trailing at halftime.

Moeder had a goal and an assist to lead the Blue Dragons, who out-shot Barton 30-9 overall and 15-6 in shots on goal. Moeder scored her fifth goal of the season.

Moeder assisted on Hutch's first goal of the game. Waithira scored just 30 seconds into the game, which is the fifth-fastest goal scored in Blue Dragon history.

Barton tied the game just 1 minute, 12 seconds later on a Laura Maria goal and Arianda Ramirez gave Barton a 2-1 lead just 6:31 into the game. Barton scored its third goal in the 53rd minute from Rayssa Neres.

Camp finished with three saves in goal for the Blue Dragons. Gonzales had 12 saves for Barton.

The Blue Dragons next play Garden City on Wednesday at the Salthawk Sports Complex in a 6 p.m. kickoff.
