The No. 16 Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team dominated possession and came away with a 4-0 Jayhawk West victory over the Pratt Beavers on Friday at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

Playing at home for the first time in 20 days, the Blue Dragons swept the season series with the Beavers.

The Blue Dragons are 11-0-1 overall, 6-0-1 (18 points) in the Jayhawk West and 8-0-1 (24 points) in Region VI play. Pratt falls to 1-10 and 1-6.

Hutchinson maintained possession throughout the game, outshooting the Beavers 42-2. The Dragons had only 10 shots on goal. The Beavers had no shots on goal against Hutchinson goalkeeper Clara Bergmuller (6-0). The Dragons had 10 corner kicks to none for Pratt.

The Blue Dragons got on the scoreboard by a Pratt Own Goal in the fifth minute of the game. Jasmine Blindt rocketed a shot off the left post and a Beaver defender accidentally knocked it into the goal for a 1-0 Blue Dragon lead.

Hutchinson converted on a corner kick in the 36th minute when Sheena Nichol's corner kick lofted to a wide-open Hailey Burke, who headed the ball over Pratt keeper Brittany-Lee Smith for a 2-0 Dragon lead.

The Blue Dragons added a pair of goals in the first 8 minutes, 11 seconds of the second half.

The first came on a Blindt unassisted goal in the 49th minute. The final goal came from Kaitlyn Sabala, who scored after a Brailey Moeder shot caromed off Smith right to the Blue Dragon forward for a 4-0 lead.

The Blue Dragons will play host to Northwest Tech in a pivotal Jayhawk West and Region VI battle at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

GAME NOTES –The Blue Dragons posted their 10th shutout of the season, the sixth by Clara Bergmuller. … This was the 35th time in program history that the Blue Dragons held an opponent without a shot on goal. … The Blue Dragons are now 10-0 all-time against Pratt with 10 shutouts. The aggregate series score is now 94-0.
