Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The 3-0 Hutchinson Community College women's basketball teams play its final preps before conference play opens in one week this weekend with neutral site games on Friday and Saturday at the Barton Classic in Great Bend.

The Blue Dragons play Redlands (0-3) at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Barton Gym and Redlands (4-0) at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network and broadcast live on Eagle Radio - KHUT-FM (102.9) on Friday and KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) on Saturday - with Sean Boston calling the action.

Hutchinson had an impressive comeback on Tuesday night, rallying from a 10-point first-half deficit to rout Neosho County 107-63 at the Sports Arena. Monae Duffy had 24 points and Bree Horyna posted her second-straight double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Blue Dragons garnered 67 rebounds against the Panthers, which ranks No. 3 on the Hutchinson single-game rebounds list.

Blue Dragon head coach John Ontjes makes his first bid for career victory No. 450 on Friday. Ontjes has a career Blue Dragon record of 449-96.

Labette has gotten off to a tough start with decisive losses to Coffeyville, Independence and Eastern Oklahoma State. The Cardinals, who are in a transition year with a new coaching staff, has struggled offensively scoring 47.7 points per game. Defensively, Labette is allowing 87.0 points per game.

Redlands has three Division I victories and an NAIA JV victory in its 4-0 start. The Cougars, who led Hutchinson by nine points before the Dragons rallied last season in Great Bend to win 68-62, are averaging 72.0 points per game while allowing 53.5 points per contest.
