The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team closes out the first half of Jayhawk Conference play on Saturday with a road trip to meet the Garden City Broncbusters.

Tipoff for the Blue Dragons (13-4, 7-4) and Broncbusters (7-10, 3-8) is 2 p.m. at Conestoga Arena in Garden City. The game will be streamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network and broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) beginning at 1:45 p.m.

The Blue Dragons enter play against the Broncbusters after a Wednesday bye and an 82-76 victory over Seward County last Saturday at the Sports Arena. The Dragons rallied from a small deficit after three quarters and outscored the Saints 25-18 in the final 10 minutes.

Mya Williams scored 20 points to lead the Dragons, while Monae Duffy and Kali Howard both produced double-doubles and Journey Armstead scored 15 points, all from the free-throw line to power the Blue Dragons to their third-straight victory.

Over their three-game winning streak, the Blue Dragons are averaging 83.3 points per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 30.1 percent from distance. The Dragons are also a plus-10 in rebounding margin and are forcing 21.3 turnovers per game.

Garden City enters play on a three-game losing streak after falling 86-47 on Wednesday at Butler. The Busters shot only 33.9 percent overall and was just 4 of 18 from 3-point range. Garden City also turned the ball over 21 times. Butler shot 52.9 percent from the field.

Over their three-game skid, the Busters are averaging only 49.7 points, while shooting 33.1 percent from the field.

The Blue Dragons have dominated the all-time series with Garden City, 76-19, but the last four games in the series have been defensive grinds. The Blue Dragons have won nine in a row in the series, but in the last four meetings Hutchinson has won by scores of only 56-52, 54-42, 60-48 and 55-51.
