Hutchinson CC Sports Information
For the fourth consecutive ranking period, the Hutchinson Community College softball team has moved up in the NJCAA Division I Softball Rankings.
The Blue Dragons (27-4) jumped up two spots to No. 13 in the latest rankings released on Monday. That is the highest ranking this season and the highest Division I Ranking since being ranked No. 7 at the end of the 1988 season.
The Blue Dragons extended their winning streak to 12 games with a 4-0 week with four run-rule victories. The Blue Dragons rolled by Seward County 28-2 and 13-5 last Wednesday in Liberal. The Dragons then downed Pratt 14-0 and 12-1 on Saturday in Pratt.
After Tuesday's game at Neosho County were cancelled, the Blue Dragons have just one doubleheader scheduled this weekend, which comes on Saturday at Colby.
The Blue Dragons continue to be the highest ranked Jayhawk Conference team this week. Butler is ranked No. 18 this week. Former opponent Weatherford is ranked 20th. Murray State continues to be the No. 1 team in NJCAA Division II.
