Blue Dragon Men's Golf places 8th in the NJCAA National Preview

HOBBS, New Mexico – The No. 3-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's golf team closed out the fall season on Tuesday with an eighth-place showing at the NJCAA National Preview.

Playing on the same course – Rockwood Community Links in Hobbs, New Mexico – as the 2024 NJCAA Division I Championships, the Blue Dragons shot a combined 17-over 869 over the last two days.

The Blue Dragons had rounds of 291 and 292 on Monday before posting a 286 on Tuesday to close out the tournament.

Hutchinson finished 14 strokes off the pace of team champion Odessa (282-292-281), which won the tournament by two strokes with a 54-hole team score of 855. Runner-up Dodge City shot an 857 and Midland finished third at 869.

The Blue Dragons had two players finish in the individual Top 20.

Redshirt freshman Louis Ross was the only Blue Dragon to finish in the individual Top 20. Ross tied for 11th with a 1-over 214 on the par-71 course. Ross had rounds of 70 and 72 on Monday and closed with a 72 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Marco Anderson, who played as an individual player, tied for 21st overall. Anderson shot 216 after arounds of 75, a career-low 69 and a 72.

Freshman Micah Blowers tied for 26th at 217. Blowers carded rounds of 73, 73 and 71.

Sophomore Louis Galvin tied for 30th at 218. He posted rounds of 75, 72 and 71.

Freshman David Razinskas finished tied for 48th at 222. Razinskas had rounds of 73, 75 and 74.

Freshman Charlie Box tied for 67th with a 54-hole score of 225. Box had rounds of 76 and 77 on Monday and rebounded with a 72 on Tuesday.
