ODESSA, Texas – One year ago, the Hutchinson Community College men's' golf team put together a record-setting performance that vaulted the Blue Dragons to the top spot of the NJCAA and ultimately to a national title last spring.

While this year's NJCAA National Preview performance wasn't a polar opposite, the No. 1-ranked Blue Dragons struggled at times in Friday's final round and finished fourth in the NJCAA National Preview at the Odessa Country Club, site of the 2022 NJCAA Men's Division I Championship next May.

The Blue Dragons cared a 2-over par 290 on Friday and finished with a 54-hole even-par score of 864 for Hutchinson's 14th-consective Top 5 team finish.

No. 2-ranked Midland won the team title at 849. Nos. 3 and 7 Odessa was second at 864 and unranked Indian Hills was third at 961. Midland and Odessa posted final-round team scores of 285 on Friday. Indian Hills had the low team round on Friday of 283.

Freshman Dominic Clemons was Hutchinson's low golfer on Friday with a 1-under 71. Sophomore All-American Harry Crockett shot an even-par 72. The Dragons also counted a 73 by sophomore All-American Ben Partridge and sophomore Addison Alonzo's 74.

The Blue Dragons had two golfers place in the individual Top 10 for the tournament.

Partridge tied for fifth with a 54-hole total of 213. Crockett was 10th at 215.

Freshman Blake Saffell shot a 77 on Friday and finished tied for 21st at 221. Clemons and Alonzo tied for 25th at 222.

Individual player Cameron Rios-Ceballos shot 77 on Friday to finished tied for 46th at 229.

The Blue Dragons complete the fall portion of the schedule. The defending NJCAA National Champions open the spring schedule in mid-March.
