AMARILLO, Texas – After two up-and-down rounds on Monday, the NJCAA No. 1-ranked Hutchinson Community College Men's Golf Team finds itself in fourth place at the West Texas A&M Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational.

The Blue Dragons shot rounds of 3-under 282 and 1-over 285 on Monday to post a 36-hole total of 1-under 567 at the par-71 Amarillo Country Club.

Hutchinson, winners of seven-straight team titles dating back to last season, is nine strokes off the pace of first-place West Texas A&M, which shot an 8-under 276 in the afternoon round to finish the day at 10-under 558. Cameron University is second at 3-under 565. Wayland Baptist University is third at 2-under 566.

Hutchinson was tied with West Texas A&M for the team lead after the opening round.

Region VI rivals Dodge City and Garden City are tied for seventh with Western Texas College at 576.

The Blue Dragons were led by 2021 NJCAA National Champion Ben Partridge in the first round, who tied a career-best score and second-best round in relation to par with a 5-under 66. Partridge had seven birdies and one bogey in the opening round. Hutchinson also counted Dominic Clemons' even-par 71, Harry Crockett's 72 and Blake Saffell's 74.

Crockett shot the low round for Hutchinson in the second round. Crockett had an eagle and four birdies in a round of 69. The Dragons also counted Partridge's 70 and 73s by Clemons and Cameron Rios-Ceballos

Three Blue Dragon players are in the individual Top 20 after two rounds.

Partridge, who led after 18 holes, is second at 7-under 135, is in second place. He trails West Texas A&M's Eemeli Jering by one stroke heading into Tuesday's final round.

Crockett is in a seven-way tie for 12th at 1-under 141.

Blue Dragon individual player Addison Alonzo is tied for 20th at even-par 142. Alonso shot a career-low 69 in the opening round. He started his second round with three birdies in the first six holes, but finished at 2-over 73.

Clemons is tied for 31st at 2-over 144. Saffel is tied for 50th at 6-over 148 with back-to-back rounds of 74. Blue Dragon individual Finn Nelson is tied for 55th at 149 with rounds of 78 and 71. Rios-Ceballos is also in that tie for 55th after rounds of 76 and 73 on Monday.

The Blue Dragons have tee times from 9:20 to 10 a.m. for Tuesday's final round. The Dragons will be paired with players from Dallas Baptist and Odessa.
