With four games remaining in the regular season, the Blue Dragons find themselves in third place in the Jayhawk Conference, two games behind league leader Barton, one game behind second-place Cowley and one game ahead of fourth-place Butler.

With a victory on Saturday, the Blue Dragons can clinch a Region VI Tournament opening-round bye and an automatic spot for a home game in the quarterfinal round.

Hutchinson's unblemished road record this season was put to the test with its longest road trip of the season to Goodland on Wednesday night as the Blue Dragons rallied late for an 89-84 victory over the upset-minded Northwest Tech Mavericks.

Point guard J.P. Ricks scored a career-high 26 points, hitting several key free throws in the final minute to help the Blue Dragons pull away for the win. Kernan Bundy came off the bench to contribute 16 points and eight rebounds. The Blue Dragons had to overcome a season-high 29 turnovers against Northwest Tech.

Bundy continues to lead a strong bench presence for the Blue Dragons this season. The sophomore guard is averaging a team-high 10.5 points off the bench. Overall the Blue Dragon bench is contributing 33.3 points and 16.9 rebounds per game this season. Collectively, the Blue Dragon bench is shooting 46.0 percent overall and 31.0 percent from 3-point range.

Seward County snapped a seven-game losing streak on Wednesday night after defeating Dodge City 80-75. Dave Olaniyi and Nathan Jones led five Saints in double figures with 15 points each.

When Hutchinson and Seward County met for the first time this season on January 10 at the Sports Arena, the Blue Dragons had one of their best defensive performances this season, holding the Saints to an all-time series low offensive output in a 76-42 victory. The Blue Dragons held Seward County to just 28.8 percent shooting in the first game.

Saturday's meeting is the 117th in a series that started in 1970. The Blue Dragons own at 85-31 all-time advantage over the Saints.
