PRATT – The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team couldn't come up with the defensive stops it needed and had its four-game winning streak snapped on Monday night.

The No. 19-ranked Blue Dragons gave up 55.6 percent shooting and the Pratt Beavers took full advantage in a 112-100 victory over Hutchinson.

The Blue Dragons fell to 22-7 overall and 16-7 in the Jayhawk Conference. The Blue Dragons close out the regular season with key matchup at Garden City on Wednesday.

Pratt has been a much better team at home – a 12-4 record at the Beaverdome and 1-13 on the road – and proved it on Monday night by scoring the most points against the Blue Dragons in the 176-game series history. The Beavers hit 40 of 72 total shots, 5 of 11 from 3-point range, and were 27 of 30 from the free-throw line. Three different Pratt players posted double-doubles.

Playing from behind for most of the game – the Blue Dragons trailed by as many as 12 points – Hutchinson went on a 21-4 run over a span of 4 minutes, 31 seconds to take the lead. Kobe Campbell hit a 3-pointer with 6:11 to play to give the Dragons 3-point lead. Campbell followed that with a 15-foot jumper for an 89-84 Dragon lead with 5:48 to go.

The Blue Dragons then missed their next eight shot attempts and had a key turnover as Pratt completely turned around that five-point deficit with a 17-4 run to lead 102-93 with 56 seconds remaining in the game.

The Blue Dragons shot 39.1 percent (34 of 87), going 12 of 33 from 3-point range and 20 of 29 from the free-throw line. The Dragons were out-rebounded 47-34 giving up 14 offensive rebounds.

Angelo Stuart scored 23 points to lead the Blue Dragons. Stuart had a couple of 3-pointers, but hit 11 of 14 shots from the free-throw line.

Cecil Lee hit three huge 3-pointers in the Blue Dragons' second-half comeback and finished with 19 points and seven rebounds.

Nate Goodlow had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Campbell and Kaimen Lennox had 12 points each.

Cam Morris led the Blue Dragons with 19 points and 13 rebounds on 11 of 17 shooting. Tommy Thomas had 20 points, hitting 9 of 10 free throws.

Harrison Eghan had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. D.J. Bailey had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Blue Dragons trailed 50-46 at halftime and were outscored 62-50 in the second half.

GAME NOTES – The Blue Dragons lost their third-straight game at the Beaverdome. … The Blue Dragons still hold the all-time series lead with Pratt at 149-27.
