Blue Dragon Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team aims to stop its longest losing streak since the 2015-16 season on Saturday when the No. 18 Blue Dragons play host to the Colby Trojans for Pink-Out Night.

The Blue Dragons (18-6, 12-6) and Trojans (14-9, 9-8) will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday opens an incredibly busy final 11 days of the regular season for Hutchinson. After the Trojans on Saturday, the Blue Dragons travel to Northwest Tech on Monday and returns home to play host to Seward County on Wednesday. One day later the rescheduled Butler game will take place. The Dragons close out that stretch with a Feb. 21 game at Pratt and Feb. 23 game at Garden City.

While the final score resulted in a third-straight loss, Wednesday's 100-96 setback at No. 6 Dodge City might be the spark the Blue Dragons were looking.

Minus leading scorer Angelo Stuart (injury), the Blue Dragons gave great effort and had a five-point lead over the Conquistadors with 3 1/2 minutes to play in the second half. Guard Kaimen Lennox rebounded from a recent shooting slump with a game-high 17 points and Josiah Harris had a career-high 16 rebounds.

The Blue Dragons are now tied for third place in the Jayhawk Conference with Butler at 12-6, 0.5-game behind second place Garden City. Dodge City now has a three-game lead on the field with five games to play.

Colby is 5-5 in its last 10 games after losing 72-58 at Barton on Wednesday.

The Trojans continue to be one of the highest scoring teams in the Jayhawk this season at 84.8 points per game, fourth most in the KJCCC. The Trojans are No. 2 in shooting at 48.2 percent.

Kobe Campbell led five Blue Dragons scoring in double figures with 19 points as Hutchinson won the first meeting with Colby on December 13 at the Colby Events Center. Stuart had 15 points and Nate Goodlow added 14 points and seven rebounds to lead Hutchinson. Tyrone Marshall had 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead Colby. J.J. White had 16 points and Ahmad Johnson added 15 points.

This is the 59th all-time meeting between Hutchinson and Colby.
