A pair of three-game winning streaks are on the line Saturday when the No. 5-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team plays host to the Garden City Broncbusters.

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The game marks the mid-point of the 2021-22 KJCCC season.

Hutchinson's three victories in its current streak have some against No. 18 Colby, Northwest Tech and Seward County. Garden City's current win streak have been against Pratt, Cloud County and No. 18 Butler.

The Blue Dragons found themselves in a tie for first place with Dodge City after Wednesday's 70-57 victory at Seward County. Angelo Stuart matched a career high with six 3-point goals in a game-high 23 points. Kobe Campbell had a huge game off the bench with 15 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

The victory gave Blue Dragon head coach his 300th Jayhawk Conference victory and his 416th all-time coaching win.

The Blue Dragons continue to lead the Jayhawk Conference in scoring at 94.2 points per game. Stuart continues to be the league's individual scoring leader at 22.3 points per game. Stuart is second in 3-point efficiency at 42.0 percent from distance.

After back-to-back two-point wins over Pratt and Cloud County, the Broncbusters put it all together on Wednesday with a 94-64 home win over No. 18 Butler. Guard Tone Hunter poured in 26 points to lead the Busters over the Grizzlies. Heru Bligen and Mohamed Diarra added 17 points each as Garden City shot 50.0 percent. Defensively, the Busters forced 34 Butler turnovers.

Garden City second in the Jayhawk Conference in scoring 88.9 points per game, shooting 43.7 percent from thfield and 28.6 percent from 3-point range. Defensively, the Busters are seventh in the KJCCC in points allowed at 73.6 points per game.

Hunter is the No. 3 scorer in the KJCCC at 19.7 points per game. He is shooting 44.2 percent from the field.

Garden City head coach Bill Morosco is in his first season with Garden City. Morosco was at Independence last season.

Saturday will be the 189th game between the Dragons and Broncbusters. Hutch leads the series 139-49.
