Hutchinson CC Sports Information

While the Hutchinson Community College football team has been ranked No. 1 since the first regular-season poll of the season, Monday's poll release was the first time the Blue Dragons have been a unanimous selection.

Following Saturday's 42-28 victory over No. 2 Iowa Western at Gowans Stadium, the Blue Dragons received all 10 first-place votes.

Jayhawk Conference champion Hutchinson (10-0) secured a home NJCAA National Semifinal game after rolling through the regular season unbeaten for the second-straight season. The Blue Dragons will play host to a national semifinal game for the second-straight season on either December 2 or 3. Game time and opponent will be announced next week.

Iowa Western (10-1) stayed No. 2 in the latest rankings and also secured a spot in the national playoff.

No. 3 Kilgore (8-1) will play No. 8 Navarro (6-3) in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference championship. No. 4 Copiah-Lincoln (9-1) will play No. 5 East Mississippi (8-2) in the Mississippi Community College Athletic Conference championship game on Saturday.

Snow (9-2) remained No. 5 in this week's rankings.

Dodge City (7-3) closed the season with a road win at Independence on Saturday and jumped up 12 spots to No. 7 in this week's rankings. Highland is receiving votes this week.

Hutchinson has now been ranked in 31 consecutive NJCAA rankings, the third-longest consecutive run in the national poll in program history. The Blue Dragons were ranked in 45-straight polls from 2010 to 2013 and in 38 consecutive polls from 2018 to 2021.
