After throwing for four touchdowns in a conference-championship-clinching victory over Independence, Hutchinson Community College quarterback Samari Collier was named the NJCAA National Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

One day earlier, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound sophomore, was named the Jayhawk Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Saturday's game at Independence was the second time this season that Collier has thrown for four touchdown passes.

Collier threw for career highs of 236 yards on four touchdowns to pace a Blue Dragon offense that racked up 346 total yards.

Collier connected with Oran Singleton for a 66-yard catch and run for a touchdown to opening the scoring with 5:44 to play in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead.
